We are here to help…
The National Foundation for Facial Reconstruction founded the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery in 1955 and continues to provide the financial support that sustains the Institute. In addition, NFFR assists the families of IRPS patients through the psychosocial counseling provided by the Newman Family Support Center and its family services and programs. Excellent surgical outcomes alone are not enough for children with facial difference. Each individual needs to develop a healthy self-image and the confidence to pursue a full and rewarding life.
At The Newman Family Support Center, our six-member psychosocial team consists of a social worker, clinical psyhologist, speech and language pathologist, geneticist, pediatric nurse practitioner and parent volunteer coordinator. These professionals provide psychosocial support services and counseling for children with facial differences and their families, often at no charge.
Learn more about the programs and people of the Newman Family Support Center by reading our brochure, which can be found at the NFFR offices, the IRPS, or by digital download.
