We invite you to join our new Families Connect Program. This is an online forum where you can talk to others, share and receive advice and give support to others who share similar experiences as you in regards to facial differences.

If you are a patient (adult or child) or the parent/caregiver of a child with a craniofacial condition being treated at the IRPS we encourage you to participate in Families Connect.

Whether you are a new parent who has questions about your child’s condition, or wants advice about getting your child ready for the first day of school, or an existing patient who needs guidance while preparing for a surgery, the forum can connect you in a dialogue with other new families, as well as those who have already “been down the road that you are traveling”.

Here’s how to join the conversation, it’s easy!

  1. Click here to go to the forum main page. You can view all the groups and view the new and updated topics.
  2.  If you want to post a topic or ask the group a question, you will need to log in or register. On the top right, you will see links for that.
  3. When you get the password that is mailed to you, go back to the forum page and log in. You will be able to change your password after you log in.
  4. When you get to the main forum page, select one of the 5 groups you are interested in, and select either Parent/ Caregiver or Patient.
  5.  You can read any posts that are there, or you can ask a question or start a discussion of your own. To start a new discussion, click on “Add a New Topic” in the upper right. (Reminder, you need to be logged in to post a new topic or discussion) Name your topic, then enter any text you want in the text area. If you want to receive emails with responses from others, be sure to click on “Subscribe to this Topic”.
  6. Then, click “Post New Topic”.  Anyone who is subscribed to a topic will get emails when anyone adds to the discussion. It’s that simple!

Things to note:

In the upper right, you can log out, see a list of members, change your profile or password, check your inbox, review watched topics (any topics you have flagged as interesting to you and want to come back to later) or review any topics you are subscribed to.

We are excited to be able to connect families with one another, and be able to share information, resources and stories. Welcome!

By reading and posting to the Families Connect forum you agree to the forum terms and conditions which can be read here.
