On Saturday, December 13, 2003, NFFR presented MUSIC FOR MEDICINE. This spectacular gala evening
featured a concert by the Kirov Orchestra, with Maestros Valery Gergiev and Maxim Shostakovich, Pianists Alexander Toradze and Nikolai Lugansky, and special surprise guest Violinist Vadim Repin.
The evening continued with a late dinner at The Pierre, which included a live art auction, entitled “Art for Children’s Sake.” The NFFR thanks the evening’s Chairwoman Fiorenza Scholey Cohen; Vice Chairs, Eileen Newman, Susan Friedman, Betty Sherrill and Barbara Zuckerberg; and the entire Benefit Committee who all did a spectacular job in raising close to $600,000.
Special Thanks to our evenings honoree Toys ‘R’ Us, Chairman and CEO John Eyler, who continuously strives to make a better world for children.
