NFFR Family Holiday Party 2011

The NFFR hosted it's first Family Holiday Party on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the Armenian Church on 34th St. IRPS patients, families and staff enjoyed a wonderful day of holiday fun including magicians, face painting, balloon animals, raffle prizes and a visit from Santa himself!

Fall Family Pizza Meet- October 20, 2011

Parents, children, IRPS and NFFR staff gathered for the second Newman Support Center Family Pizza Meet. The topic for the Fall Pizza meet was siblings and how having a child with facial difference effects the other sibling as well. Parents were able to hear advice from our psychosocial team as well as support each other with sharing common experiences.

Cabaret for Medicine, April 12, 2010

NFFR’s 2010 Cabaret for Medicine, produced by Carl Andress, featured spectacular performances by Karen Akers, Jim Caruso, Barb Junger, Linda Lavin, Christine Pedi, and Billy Stritch. The event also included a cocktail hour, dinner, and live auction hosted by Sotheby’s Eliza Osbourne, which raised funds for specific medical procedures. At this event, NFFR proudly honored Eileen and Arthur Newman for their dedication to the psychological and social well-being of children with craniofacial differences.

Broadway for Medicine II, March 9. 2009

In 2009, NFFR presented Broadway for Medicine II at a dinner at Cipriani 42nd Street, where Sotheby’s Jamie Niven raised funds for specific medical procedures at a live auction. The event’s entertainment, hosted by Julie Halston, featured performances by Seth Rudetsky, Norm Lewis, Andréa Burns, Lillias White, and Andrea McArdle, with Peter Flynn directing and Carl Andress producing. NFFR was delighted to honor NFFR former President and current Chairman John R. Gordon at this wonderful evening.

Photography for Medicine, 2008

Arario Gallery New York was the spectacular venue for NFFR’s 2008 Photography for Medicine cocktail party. The gallery, Mary Dinaburg, Jane Yoon, and Dinaburg Arts exhibited 52 donated contemporary photographic works, auctioned to fund IRPS’s reconstructive treatment of children. At the event, NFFR presented the family of beloved IRPS patient Max Adler with a mock-up of a book-plate honoring Mr. Adler, now included in books given to IRPS patients to acknowledge their bravery.

Broadway for Medicine - March 12, 2007

In 2007 NFFR’s Broadway for Medicine gala, under the direction of Carl Andress and John McDaniel, featured performances by Betty Buckley, Charles Busch, Melissa Errico, Manoel Feliciano, Malcolm Gets, Deborah Gibson, Joanna Gleason, Debbie Gravitte, Julie Halston, Mimi Hines, Howard McGillin, Donna McKechnie, Hugh Panaro, Lisa Vroman, Josh Strickland, Jenn Gambatese, Chester Gregory II, and Rosie’s Broadway Kids! The evening, which raised $1.2 million, included dinner and a live auction with Sotheby’s Jamie Niven, as well as presentations honoring Kirov Orchestra conductor Valery Gergiev, Parsons Dance Company founder and choreographer David Parsons, and the fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna.

Fashion for Medicine - August 4, 2006

In 2006, NFFR traveled to the Hamptons to present its benefit, Fashion for Medicine, at the beautiful home of Werner and Elizabeth Walbröl. A fashion show, featuring stunning designs from Ermenegildo Zegna, Agnona (courtesy of Saks Fifth Avenue), and Buccellati and footwear by Sergio Rossi, was followed by a live auction hosted by Matt Lauer, with Sotheby’s Selby Kiffer. A moon-lit performance by singer-songwriter-pianist Peter Cincotti capped the glamorous evening.

IRPS Patient Reunion - November 12, 2005

Approximately 100 current and former IRPS patients were all smiles at a 2005 reunion at the Union League Club in New York City. Pianist George Barboza, who had received multiple reconstructive treatments through IRPS, provided lovely musical entertainment, and IRPS patients, such as Betsy McNally, Sage Volkman, and Scott Donnelly, shared inspirational stories of the hardships they had endured and the transformative treatments they had received.

Dance for Medicine - April 11, 2005

NFFR’s 2005 gala Dance for Medicine, under the artistic direction of Fiorenza Scholey Cohen and David Parsons, featured performances by renowned dance companies at New York City Center. During dinner at the Rainbow Room, Sotheby’s Jamie Niven conducted a live auction, and NFFR presented an award recognizing the entire IRPS team, accepted by Dr. Joseph G. McCarthy, and an honor to Juicy Couture, accepted by its co-founder Gela Nash-Taylor. By the evening’s end, NFFR had raised over $1.4 million.

Music for Medicine - December 13, 2003

In 2003 NFFR’s Music for Medicine benefit at Carnegie Hall featured a concert by the Kirov Orchestra with maestros Valery Gergiev and Maxim Shostakovich, pianists Alexander Toradze and Nikolai Lugansky, and violinist Vadim Repin. At a late dinner at The Pierre following the concert, a live art auction entitled “Art for Children’s Sake” raised funds for the treatment of children at IRPS.

Club Day - September 19, 2002

Over 100 people joined NFFR at The Creek Club in Locust Valley, New York, in 2002 for an enjoyable day of golf, tennis, and bridge, starting with brunch and ending with cocktails at sunset. Through Club Day, NFFR raised much-needed funds for children and adults with craniofacial anomalies.

NFFR 50th Anniversary - May 30, 2001

NFFR celebrated its 50th anniversary at a spectacular evening at Tavern on the Green in 2001. NFFR proudly honored Dr. Joseph G. McCarthy, Director of IRPS; Jon Wurtzburger, President of AirLifeLine; Richard M. Scrushy, CEO, President, and Founder of HealthSouth Corporation; and Cindy McCain, parent and advocate for children. NFFR also honored outstanding supporters Variety, The Children’s Charity; The Mortimer J. Harrison Trusts; and J. Peter Hoguet, then Chairman of the NFFR Board of Trustees.
